I’m Mike, a professional portrait & wedding photographer in Cambridge since 2007. My studio is located in the village of Girton where I emulate natural light and shoot against hand painted canvas. The images are timeless, with a fashion influenced look. When shooting on location, it’s more about meaningful spaces. Sometimes it’s a family garden, other times it’s a favourite park, or perhaps a college garden at the University of Cambridge. With my wedding photography, I want to fall in love with all the weddings I shoot. I therefore limit my bookings.

Whether commissioned to photograph a baby, children or a large family group, I capture your family how it really is! With young children I particularly enjoy those personality traits apparent even as a baby. I love to see connections between child & parent, brother & sister, between different generations. I aims to capture the moments unseen. As one of the few Cambridge photographers with a professional portrait studio, I offer studio portrait sessions, but I’m equally happy on location shooting in places with more meaning to my subjects. My work has been nationally published and I was an Olympus Wedding Award finalist. I’m a 2 times Emma’s Diary Baby of the Month winner and 1 time Emma’s Diary Photographer of the Month winner!

With nearly 20 years experience photographing weddings all over the UK (and abroad), Cambridge is still the city I most love shooting in. I’ve lived and worked in this beautiful, historic city all my life. It’s where my portrait studio is based. I know every hidden corner of the medieval centre and many of the University colleges too! I also love the wedding venues outside of the city. There are spectacular farm venues, old country mansions & stunning marquees out in the Cambridgeshire countryside. And I’ve shot a wedding in most of them! The Cambridge area is a dream place to be based as a professional wedding and portrait photographer, I just wish there were a few more mountains…
